As per a source, SonyLIV has secured the digital streaming rights for the movie Rekhachithram. Starring Asif Ali and Anaswara Rajan, this mystery crime thriller has garnered significant praise since its theatrical release on January 9, 2025.
Directed by Jofin T. Chacko, known for his previous work The Priest, Rekhachithram follows Vivek, portrayed by Asif Ali, a police officer reinstated after a suspension due to gambling allegations. Upon his return, Vivek becomes entangled in the enigmatic case of Rajendran, played by Siddique, who commits suicide after confessing to a decades-old crime on social media. As Vivek investigates further, he uncovers the mysterious disappearance of a young girl from the 1985 movie set of Kathodu Kathoram, leading him down a path filled with long-buried secrets.
The film boasts a stellar ensemble cast, including Manoj K. Jayan, Siddique, Jagadish, Saikumar, Harisree Ashokan and Indrans, among others. The screenplay, crafted by John Manthrickal and Ramu Sunil, is complemented by Mujeeb Majeed’s evocative music, Appu Prabhakar’s captivating cinematography, and Shameer Muhammed’s precise editing. Produced by Venu Kunnappilly under the banners of Kavya Film Company and Ann Mega Media, Rekhachithram has been lauded for its intricate plot and compelling performances.
Since its release, the film has resonated with audiences, amassing over ₹50 crore at the box office and maintaining strong theater occupancy into its third weekend.
