Malayalam superstar Mohanlal’s directorial debut Barroz is now streaming on Disney Plus Hotstar. The 3D fantasy film also featured Mohanlal in the lead role, along with Maya Rao West, Cesar Lorente Raton, Ignacio Mateos, Kallirroi Tziafeta, Nerea Camacho and Tuhin Menon.
The film revolves around Barroz, who has been the steadfast keeper of da Gama’s treasure for 400 years. Bound by a powerful magic, he lingers in time, waiting for the rightful heir to appear.
Barroz joins the Hotstar library, which also has recent Mohanlal releases like Malaikottai Vaaliban, Neru, Bro Daddy, Alone and Monster, among others.
In a conversation with The Indian Express, Mohanlal had said that Barroz is a 3D fantasy film with layers of wonder, adventure, and emotion. He added that kids will be mesmerized by its magic, and adults might find moments that connect with their inner child.
Barroz released in theatres on December 25, 2024. It opened to poor reviews and went on to collect over Rs 15 crore at the worldwide box office.
