About This Patharamattu Serial
Patharamattu on Asianet follows the lives of three middle-class sisters—Navya, Nayana, and Nandana—and their mother, Kanakadurga, who dreams of marrying her daughters into wealthy, prestigious households. While elder daughter Navya is self-absorbed and materialistically ambitious, second daughter Nayana is an artist endowed with humility, selflessness, and moral integrity. Fate intervenes when Navya’s arranged wedding with Adarsh—a disciplined, proud scion of the affluent Ananthapuri jewellery empire—falls apart due to sudden elopements and deceptions, forcing Nayana to step into the wedding mandap to protect both families' honor.
Thrust into the palatial yet treacherous Ananthapuri household, Nayana confronts intense resentment from Adarsh, who feels deceived into marrying a simple, middle-class woman. The narrative deepens as subsequent events pull the other sisters, Navya and Nandana, into marital and domestic alliances with the other sons of the joint family. Amid class prejudice, hostile in-laws, and internal family conspiracies led by scheming relatives, Nayana persistently relies on patience and moral clarity, gradually melting Adarsh's cold demeanor while striving to preserve the unity of both households.
